This year’s annual Laserfiche conference reported more than 1,600 users, resellers, and partners in attendance, making it the largest to date. From around the globe, the Laserfiche community gathered to share experiences, knowledge and participate in what was one of the very best Empower Conferences to date.

Fresh off of the Laserfiche 8.3 release, users were able to take full advantage of the expertise knowledge and experience provided via the many classes, labs and roundtables at the conference. Although the latest release is not labeled as “major”, it certainly could be. Both the advances to the Laserfiche Client and Workflow had most on the edge of their seats asking great questions; you could practically see the light bulbs going on in peoples head’s for how they would leverage the major advances of the software.

One of my absolute favorite classes revolved around the upcoming features that Laserfiche has under development. It appears that Laserfiche will soon be releasing its official iPad application, which looks fantastic and maintains a completely intuitive way for users to interact with their repository. If you’ve used Laserfiche’s iPhone app on your iPad, which is possible, you’ll want to get your hands on the official iPad app as soon as it comes out; you will not be disappointed.

During the upcoming features session, Laserfiche also previewed their “Laserfiche Forms” product, which is still in development, but was easily the most exciting thing that I took away from the conference. Since it’s still in initial development, I won’t go into too many details, but just imagine a fully integrated electronic forms product and you’ll start to get the picture… VERY EXCITING!

Through the testimonials, keynotes, classes, and roundtables, the entire conference was a resounding affirmation that Laserfiche continues to set its own bar for powerful solutions that maintain an intuitive quality about them. If you have not had a chance to attend and participate in the conference before, I strongly encourage you to start thinking about how you can make sure that you’re in attendance next year.
